The California Pandemic Early Detection and Prevention Act Backers Issue Statement on Officially Qualifying for 2024 Ballot

“We are excited to see the measure move forward to the ballot in 2024 and remain dedicated to giving Californians an opportunity to invest in the resources we need to be prepared for future pandemics."

Every County, CA – Max Henderson, the lead proponent behind The California Pandemic Early Detection and Prevention Act, issued the following statement in response to the measure’s official qualification for the 2024 statewide ballot.

“We are excited to see the measure move forward to the ballot in 2024 and remain dedicated to giving Californians an opportunity to invest in the resources we need to be prepared for future pandemics. This time allows us to continue conversations with Governor Newsom, the Legislature, UC, and all stakeholders to find an effective solution that will maximize the saving of human life and bring an economic return for the state of California - while potentially obviating the need to go to the ballot.”

The California Pandemic Early Detection and Prevention Act is endorsed by United States Senator Alex Padilla, State Senator and Chair of the Committee on Health Dr. Richard Pan, Assemblymember Matt Haney, the California Medical Association, American Nurses Association, County Health Executives Association of California, American Nurses Association - California, UNITE HERE! Local 11 and The Health Officers Association of California (HOAC), The California Association of Health Facilities, League of United Latin American Citizens, San Francisco Medical Society, San Diego Medical Society, along with many respected California scientists, doctors, educators, and academics at the forefront of pandemic preparedness.
